AlexinCTThe more people hear about what the politicians are going to stick us with, the less they like it. As the American people learn what the faith our politicians envision for us, while keeping themselves immune to the misery they intend for us I should add, the more they balk at the plan.
Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan. Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote. Prior to this, support for the plan had never fallen below 41%. Last week, support for the plan was at 47%. Two weeks ago, the effort was supported by 45% of voters. Intensity remains stronger among those who oppose the push to change the nation’s health care system: 21% Strongly Favor the plan while 43% are Strongly Opposed.
It’s no mystery why this thing is becoming despised by so many. It will cost us a lot more than it does now or would otherwise if nothing was done going forward. We will get far less, have to wait much longer, and likely be denied much more coverage than even the worst case scenarios today do. People are realizing that the democrats want control of the money and our decision making, not to fix healthcare. That’s why we have things like this:
Overall, 46% favor the creation of a government-sponsored non-profit health insurance option that people could choose instead of a private health insurance plan. However, if the plan encouraged companies to drop private health insurance coverage for their workers, support for the public option falls to 29%, and opposition rises to 58%.
And you better believe they are lying when they tell us they will not encourage companies to drop us. That is, unless you think using the power of the federal government to bludgeon employers into dropping people instead of just leaving it up to them doesn’t qualify as encouragement.
As Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, wrote in the Wall Street Journal: “The most important fundamental is that 68% of American voters have health insurance coverage they rate good or excellent. … Most of these voters approach the health care reform debate fearing that they have more to lose than to gain.”
It’s a given that those of us that are happy with what we got are going to not be happy after this bill. We are going to pay more to get less. And we are going to have to go through a bureaucrat to get it. I bet that even the ones that are unhappy with what they have will pine for these good old days if the collectivists get their way.
On immigration, 83% say that proof of citizenship should be required before anyone can get health care assistance from a government program. Most Democrats while claiming the plan will not cover illegal immigrants are opposed to including a proof-of-citizenship stipulation.
We already know the democrats will have none of that. In fact if they somehow are thwarted on this get ready to see some 12 million people nationalized so they can vote for democrats.
Other polling shows that 47% trust the private sector more than government to keep health care costs down and the quality of care up. Two-thirds (66%) say an increase in free market competition will do more than government regulation to reduce health care costs.
That first item there baffles me. Do these people have any real experience with government? Have they simply resigned themselves to poor service because they are jealous of private insurers making a profit? What gives? With the exception of the military I think everything else government does is not only a colosal and monumental waste of our money, but to be shunned just like one would shun a AIDS infected rapist. At least the majority is smart enough to see tha what we are getting is not going to cut costs at all.
Only 31% believe Congress has a good understanding of the proposed health care reform.
I think people got this wrong. My bet is that these crooks know exactly what they are doing to us, and they don’t care. It is about increasing their power, influence and personal wealth. No wonder they are in such a hurry to pass this abommination. As people find out how bad it is, they are going to lose support from even the most ardent supporters.

AlexinCTIt looks like Reid bought enough votes to push the government healthcare takeover in the Senate forward. The collectivists are ecstatic about their success and have already slated their horrible plan’s faux discussion is still not a given. Especially with this kind of economic news and the disastrous way democrats continue to deal with this crisis of their own making.
Anyway, Reid had to promise some massive deficit enhancing cash outlays and favors to buy the votes of many of these red state democrats shown in the list below whom are going to pay for this vote back in their home states:
Alaska - Mark Begich.
Arkansas - Blanche Lincoln.
Arkansas - Mark Pryor.
Louisiana - Mary Landrieu.
Missouri - Claire McCaskill.
Montana - Max Baucus.
Montana - Jon Tester.
Nebraska - Ben Nelson.
North Dakota - Kent Conrad.
North Dakota - Byron Dorgan.
South Dakota - Tim Johnson.
West Virginia - Robert Byrd.
West Virginia - Jay Rockefeller.
Let us hope all these bastards selling us to these criminals lose their next election. Better yet, let us hope tat these bastards don’t stick us with this disastrous and destructive takeover of healthcare by government. Because this is the future of healthcare when government owns us through it.

AlexinCTThat Nancy Pelosi has decided none of the peasants should bother to try and read it. Only for VIPs. Why the hell would anyone care what’s in that 1990 page abomination anyway? The government is going to fix it all and that’s all we need to know. Now shut up and give away more of your paycheck to your betters. And the left loves to tell us how bad Bush was. Obama and the demcorats have done more damage and stupid things in but 9 months than Bush id in 8 freaking years. And that’s saying something. Looks like Carter will soon be able to enjoy the title of “second worse president” after the current idiot.
Update: The CBO has chimed in on this new bill which not only keeps the death panels and the horrible government take over plan which started off as the “public option” and has been renamed a couple of times by Nancy Pelosi in the hopes of confusing people, but according to the CBO will cost over $1 trillion. What the CBO likely doesn’t mention are the massive increases in taxes - which will impact everyone paying insurance premiums right now for private plans without doubt - and the massive reduction in services from other government run healthcare systems in order to meet this new price tag and hide the fact that this thing will suck up a couple of trillion or more dollars. And considering how well the CBO has predicted the cost of these boondoggles, and how much more they have cost - Social Security was supposed to cost $9 billion at its peak and we all know that it costs tens of times more just as an example - this plan is likely to costs us a couple of tens of trillions. That is, unless government starts putting more than those senior citizens through death panels. Maybe people will also get their healthcare denied based on ideology. Not a far stretch considering how criminal activity is simply ignored by both the AG and the MSM when democrats and their allies do it. Even more fun is the fact that we will begin paying for this mess next year, but see nothing of the sort in healthcare services or policy until 2016 at the earliest. At the risk of getting Ed Kline’s panties in a bunch, let me again say this collectivist shit is nothing but a recipe for disaster.

AlexinCTWould you expect people that ran and won elections on “Change and Hope”, accused their predecessors of corruption and lack of transparency, promised transparency and ethical behavior, and in general claim to champion the will of the people, but especially the little guy, to do something like this?
WASHINGTON — Senate Finance Committee Democrats have rejected a GOP amendment that would have required a health overhaul bill to be available online for 72 hours before the committee votes. Republicans argued that transparency is an Obama administration goal. They also noted that their constituents are demanding that they read bills before voting.
Democrats said it was a delay tactic that could have postponed a vote for weeks. The Democrats noted that unlike other committees, the Finance Committee works off conceptual language that describes policies — instead of legislative language that ultimately becomes law, and which the GOP amendment would have required.
So the democrats vote down a bill to show the people what they plan to do to healthcares so we the people can have a look and make sure we understand what they are doing, on the grounds that it would delay their passage of the vote? Why? They worried that once people get to read it, they will balk at it and demand changes? Because I see nothing else that would make this a bad idea. I mean, they promised that they would be transparent. So I can only conclude, based on how this thing is playing out so far, that the intent here was to shove this unwritten bill through, before people can read it and object to the royal shafting sure to come, and they want nothing in the way of that.
Democrats accepted an alternate amendment to make conceptual language available online before a vote.
Yeah, right. I would love to see the details about that alternate amendment that was passed. This is the MSM covering for the democrats. What language changes would have suddenly done away with their accusations that letting the people read the bill before they get to vote on it leading to delays? My guess is anything that really would have given people time to read the real intentions and then respond to them. Of course, the MSM which is in bed with them on this issue, has no intention of doing any real investigation and informing, or they have would have provided details.
We are getting “serviced” by our elected officials. Just like a bull “services” cows…
