Only a few races today, but they’re big ones. It’s fun to watch the MSM claim that (a) Democrat losses do not indicate public disapproval of Obama; (b) Democrat victories mean the public loves Obama. OK.
Share your thoughts. I’ll post the occasional update.
Update: Bob McDonnell has apparently won the Virginia governor’s office, beating Craig Deeds again. I’m not terribly familiar with McDonnell, but his campaign was heavily focused on economic issues and distance itself from Ralph Reed and Sarah Palin. Here’s hoping he’s a step in the right direction for the GOP.
Update: Corzine is down as well. This is looking like a good night for the GOP.
Update: Uber Nanny Statist and power hungry Michael Bloomberg appears to have eeked out a victory in NYC. Shame, really.
Update: NY-23 has gone to the Democrat. As I understand it, this is the first time in something like a century.
Update: The Best Magazine on the planet points out the hypocrisy of the left on the purge question here and here. Fun reading.
Update: Gay marriage narrowly lost in Maine. Whatever I may think of the issue, the GOP—and the Democrats for that matter—are on the wrong side of the timeline. Each time this goes up for a popular vote, the margin gets closer. Eventually, a state will uphold this in an open vote. Then another. Then more. What will the politicians do then?
