Headline: Obama responds to attacks on his patriotism

(CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama defended his patriotism Monday, telling a crowd in Independence, Missouri, that his "deep and abiding love for this country" is the reason he is running for president.

"At certain times over the last 16 months, I have found, for the first time, my patriotism challenged -- at times as a result of my own carelessness, more often as a result of the desire by some to score political points and raise fears and doubts about who I am and what I stand for," he said in President Harry Truman's hometown, just days before the Fourth of July.

Obama vowed to never question the patriotism of others in the campaign, adding "I will not stand idly by when I hear others question mine."

Has anyone actually "attacked" his patriotism? Like Allah, I wonder how long it will take Obama to repudiate this speech. As with his playing of the race card, Obama is flailing away at strawmen of his own creation and the media is slavishly printing his words without examining whether they represent truth.

To paraphrase the guys who created "South Park," I may hate John McCain, but I really frigging hate Barack Obama and his radical ideology.

New White House poll Gives Bush 95% Approval Rating

Washington, D.C. – Surprising new poll numbers show George Bush has a 95% approval rating, up some seventy points from previous polls. These numbers fly in the face of numerous nationally recognized polls that have placed Mr. Bush at historically low ratings among presidents.

Asked about this astonishing leap, a White House spokesman explained the numbers this way. “This poll was taken of a cross section of American people who just happen to work in the White House. Women, men, whites….and others, the vast majority agree that President Bush is doing a bang up job.”

A question was raised about the validity of polling members of the White House staff. The spokesman dismissed the concerns as “typical liberal bias.” He assured the assembled reporters that this was a voluntary, totally random poll.

The redacted survey was circulated among reporters at the news conference. Question number seven was: “President Bush has never made a mistake while in office. Do you believe George Bush has ever made a mistake?” Question eleven: “Jesus Christ walked on water. George Bush cleared brush. This means Jesus Christ and George Bush are spiritual coequals. True or False.”

The tabulated results of the survey have been classified as top secret, but Department of Justice lawyers have certified the results as accurate and true.

Gov?t To tell You What Kids to Invite to Birthday Parties

OK, now go read that headline again. There is no trick to it. I am saying that government is aggregating unto itself the power to tell you, a parent of an 8-year-old child, which of his school classmates he is allowed to invite to his birthday party. And government has decided that if your child doesn’t invite every kid in his class, then he isn’t allowed to invite any of them.

It’s about discrimination, don’t you know?

You see, our wilting flowers, our fragile, unable, emotionally unstable children will grow up to become serial killers if they don’t get invited to YOUR child’s birthday party. The government cares, see, and has so decreed. YOU will just have to invite everyone or you will be barred from having that party.

Fortunately this stupidity hasn’t yet happened in the United States but it did just occur in Europe. Sweden to be exact. The AP is reporting the Nanny State in Sweden has forcibly taken away the birthday invitations to an 8-year-old boy’s birthday party and told his father that he isn’t allowed to pass them out to only some of the other kids. If it isn’t all of them, then NONE should be invited.

The boy handed out invitations to classmates at his school in Lund, southern Sweden, but did not invite two boys because they were not his friends… The school, 360 miles south of Stockholm, confiscated all the invitations, saying it objected because it had a duty to ensure against discrimination.

The Father of the boy told authorities that one of the two boys had bullied his child and the other had not invited his boy to a past party.

Now, the anti-American left in this country would have you believe that Europe is the closest thing to nirvana, they say we should be emulating what they do there. We’ve even had self-hating Supreme Court Justices imagining that we should jettison the Constitution and take up foreign precedent as our own.

Big Brother and his nanny state rules all, even your 8-year-old’s birthday party.

Don’t laugh this off as something that could not happen here. Total domination of government over our lives is the ultimate end of modern liberalism. From the most important decisions to the least, most personal decisions, government must take all power unto itself to fulfill the liberal mantras of “fairness,” and “non-discrimination.”

It is already happening in Europe. It will come here if the Democratic Party and their malcontent, meddlesome constituency have anything to say about it. It’s just the kind of “change” just the kind of “new tone” they want. In fact, even if that isn’t their ultimate plan, it IS the ultimate destination, regardless.

Dr. Harry Reid; Coal and Oil Make us Sick

Harry Reid, the mental midget who runs the US Senate, has declared that coal and oil make us sick. According to the Wizard of Odd we humans take carbon out of the ground and put it in the air and it makes us sick and it causes global warming. The same Harry Reid who could not pour water out of a bucket if the directions were written on the bottom is using his vast intelligence to tell us that all the oil and coal that we use is making us sick.

Certainly, the process of combustion causes gases that can, in sufficient quantities, cause illness because, after all, the dose makes the poison (water is poisonous if you drink enough of it). However, we have been using these items for a very long time and we are not all keeling over and dying from noxious gases sweeping across the land. Oil and coal have no other purpose than what we use them for so it is reasonable to assume they are here for us to use just as we are.

In any event, the mortality rate for the United States is just over 8 per 100,000 and on the list of leading causes of death, I can’t find oil, coal or carbon listed so unless Harry has some super secret data, he is just pulling this out of his…, well now that I think about it his head is already there.

Harry Reid and his Democratic buddies, including Senator Hopenchange, constantly repeat that we cannot drill our way out of the high oil prices. Sure, and starving people can’t eat their way out of hunger [Ann Coulter]. It is impossible to tax your way to prosperity but that does not stop the Democrats from raising taxes. This mantra about not drilling out of problems is not catching on because a vast majority of people in this country want us to drill for our own resources. So, the Democrats have to think of some other reason to not allow us to drill. Thus, oil and coal make us sick.

Ten years ago they were saying it would take ten years to get any oil from ANWR. We would be getting it today if we started then. The answer is always the same though, we need to end our dependence on oil. I have no problem with that but these nimrods have not come up with an alternative in all the years they have been saying they will end our dependence. We cannot stop using fossil fuels until we have something that can take its place so it is in our best interests to drill for our own oil and continue using it until something better comes along. If we don’t we will be sitting here in another ten years still looking for an alternative to oil with millions of barrels sitting under our feet and below the surface of our water. Gasoline will be $20 a gallon and politicians will still be whining about alternative sources and ending oil dependence.

Harry Reid has no idea about the medical issues that accompany oil and coal use and global warming is a scam to increase profits for a select few in this country at the expense of dolts who buy into it. The reality is, oil and coal are much cleaner than they were a century ago and we use these products more efficiently. The life expectancy in our country has gone way up even though we use more oil and coal now than we did back then and the leading cause of death here is heart disease. Coal and oil, contrary to what Harry Reid says, are not making us sick (at least no more so than ever before) but I am willing to look at any credible study on the issue, Senator.

What is making us sick is paying more than $4 a gallon for gas and knowing that the money for it goes to countries that are hostile toward us while we ignore the huge supply of oil under our own property.

We are also sick of Democrats telling us we cannot drill. Come to think of it, we are just sick of Democrats in general.

Contrary to what people might think, we can vote our way out of that problem…
